Eco-design concept for motor skills modules. Creation and development of a circular design furniture, 2021.
Challenges
The brief is to create a circular design made from recycled EVA, easily recyclable in order to generate the best possible life cycle loop.
Solutions
EVA, a material generally produced in Asia, is recycled in France using various regional resources. It is reconditioned, stretched, vulcanized, and cut in boomerang panels. These are assembled by the user by threaded rods, so the object can be easily disassembled for repair and recycling after normal use.
In eco-design, knowledge of the stages of production and the use of materials in their life cycle become the driving force behind creation.
