Toy design of the Fire Truck for Mega Bloks' First Builder collection. Designed at Mega Bloks in-house design studio in Canada, made in Canada and China for Megabrands, 2013.
Challenges
Sold on the worldwide market, project challenge was to emphasize design solutions by using plastic abilities with in-mold esthetics, family molds and snaping systems for a low-cost production and transport.
Solutions
We've driven innovation by reducing the cost of production to keep it local and designing the best of characterization, play patterns and packaging for the toy. Which is 80% made and assembled in Canada, which was part of the design strategy.
Our coordination with the engineers was a key factor in finding the best technical feasibilities
